Just did myne. '89 200.
First time I ever did a Volvo pump. They are a bit different then GM.
2 hours if all goes smooth.
Fan and shroud come off, upper timing belt cover comes off, Alternator belts loosen and drop away.
take off the 2 10mm nuts and the 3(?) bolts and the bolt and nut that holds the Metal pipe (heater pipe). and pull. The heater hose pipe will hold on pretty good. It's a bit annoying getting past the upper corner of the Lower Timing Cover.
Clean the dried on rubber 'O' ring off that Heater pipe. clean gasket area on block.
Slide new 'O' ring on heater pipe.
put vaseline on large rubber that goes on top of pump for the Head seal.
I used Gasket RTV one both sides of paper gasket. stuck the gasket to the Waterpump.
worked the pump onto the Threaded stud next to the Timing Cover first then wiggled the Heater pipe on, then the water pump push on easy enough.
with the pump about 1/4" away from the Engine block, I got all the hardware threaded in a bit. Then pushed the pump up against the block making sure 'O' ring for the Head was sliding in nice. the holes that the nuts went into are slotted, push upward toward the Head as yo snug them up first. For me, the on nut closest to the Timing cover was up all the way as I pushed the pump in. I snugged that one then put a ratchet handle into the Water pump intake and used that to leverage the pump up ( easy does it) and then snugged up the other Nut.
Tighteded up the Bolts and ...well the rest is pretty much reverse order.
vaseline on the 'O' rings were per instructions in with the water pump.
it seemed important as far as getting it past the Head area.
