740 + K&N = better mileage?

There's discussion about the K&N filters every few months here, the general concensus is that it's worthless as an 'upgrade' and a step backward as far as filtration effectiveness. And it requires periodic maintenance, involving buying MORE stuff from K&N to wash & re-oil it. Keep a fresh Volvo/Mann or Crossland filter in there & you'll have plenty of unrestricted airflow.
