I've had it with my car. 1988 245DL. Engine is solid, but the work required is too much for me to stomach. I had a fender bender and it knocked the tranny out of place, cracked the exhaust, wore the brakes down to metal against metal and knocked out the neutral safety switch. No body damage other than the grille popping out and the passenger side headlight cover. My mechanic (who's Volvo-only since 1976) quoted me $650+ for the work which is more than I can afford right now.
So now I'm at the point where I need to decide the best way to go about selling the car. The mechanic was able to engage the neutral switch, so I could drive home. Here it sits and I need to do something soon. Do I part it out, or try to sell it as is? The interior is funky, the body is in tact although not pretty. I'm in West Hartford, CT.
Thanks for reading.
