No offense and sorry to be a dissenter but I used chainsaw method to replace blower in my '87. Although it does work and was/is a lot easier then the alternative proper method I find that blower output is uneven. That is the right side(passenger side/U.S. car)is much stronger than the left side. If using just the middle chest level vents then you can close down right hand side ones so as to even out the output. However you can not do so with windshield/up vents or floor/down vents. Maybe I am picky but this uneven output bothers me. Wish I had not used chainsaw method and had spent the extra time and effort to do job properly. However(I am a libra so forgive me)maybe if I had done job that way and it turned out to be a big hassle and took days to complete then I would be a strong advocate of chainsaw method. In any case doing job yourself will save lots of $$ as lowest I was quoted on this job was $375. Good luck.
