I had the same thought this morning. When my son gets home this afternoon, I plan to take a look at the inside of the clamps, wire brush them just to be sure and see what happens. When I said "clean" I meant there was no sign of corrosion. However, I was thinking about the car this morning (as I have most unoccupied moments since the gremlins appeared) and it seems to me that the clamps/terminals may have had some rust on them. I know the nuts to tighten them do. The battery posts are pristine, the battery is new.
This car does not have what I think of as traditional power door locks but it does have a feature where the key in the drivers door will lock all of the doors at once. I noticed last night that this feature no longer functions. When I was checking fuses I noticed that when I was replacing one of the 8 amp fuses, I could hear the "door lock mechanisim" clicking. The locks were not engaging but I could hear the mechanism. Now I wonder if this may be a source of the problem.
I hate to give up and take it to my mechanic. Not so much the expense as I don't like to admit defeat.
