Thomas:

Was the car running fine before? Did something change just before the hesitation started? Please state what kind of maintenance has recently been performed on the engine.

You mentioned in an earlier post that hard starting in winter is usual for these cars. This has not been my experience of daily driving through four north-east USA winters with a B18/dual SU-HS6. There were no starting problems that couldn't be resolved.
