Heater problems still here S90-V90

The control module is the entire electronic unit which controls all AC and heater functions, it contains the control knobs for heater and AC operation. It pulls out of the dash as a single unit and unplugs much like the radio. The fan speed knob is part of that unit.
It is not a rheostat but just a 4 or 5 position switch.
The control unit sends a signal or variable voltage to the power unit which controls the fan speed. As I remember the power unit is mounted somewhere near the fan and has heat sink.
