The whole thing has me sick. I used to run a machine shop out west 20 some odd years ago. If we trashed someones head or block, we would just get them another one. They would leave with a working part, but I can't remember if that was just our policy or law.
Out here in bubba land they'll probably wonder why I wasn't happy running on 4 out of 6.
The minimum thickness on a diesel is cast in stone, no margin ( actually the things aren't supposed to be millable, but there is usually just enough over the min spec from the factory to allow it ) Diesel heads have no chambers,the area over the piston is flat same as the rest of the head surface, milling doesn't effect compression. but if gone too far will weaken the head .there's an insane amount of pressure contained in those things.
I love how the guys excuse is that he didn't want to risk breaking his bit... with no regard to breaking my head.
