OK. I guess I will have to do the bead on EVERY inch of the seal both inside edge and out and see how that does me. Fortunately I am dealing with a "new" gasket that's about three years old, so it will not crack and open up new holes any time soon.

That's interesting about the drain tubes for the heater though. I have never seen such tubes when down under the dash, nor in my Haynes diagram on page 186. What color are they? I guess I'll have to do some exploring down there again. Where do they drain to, holes in the firewall?
