I glued mine many years ago and it has worked well. You need to take the instrument cluster out so you can assure you get a good alignment of the two pieces. It was quite a while ago, but I have a vague recollection of drilling a small hole in both ends of the square piece and inserting a small pin or something for reinforcement. use some serious epoxy adhesive and build it up as much as you can without creating any interference when you put it back together.
