If you want a tough clutch or trans job buy a Mercedes or an Alpha, or a BMW.
I have an extension that places the end in the middle of the shifter hole in the tunnel. I place the socket and extension, stuff a rag up there to hold it, then move to the inside of the car with a breaker bar and ratchet. The upper bolt is out in no time.
Lower the engine all the way to the firewall (disconnect the exhaust flange to get the movement and prevent stressing the header pipe) and the trans comes out with just a single twist.
