86 245 RWD standard OD, 247,607 mi Greetings from the gulf coast! here goes my first time on this side of the parts counter, but i reeived some valuable info last week so in return.. .
I'm not sure, and volvo gurus correct me if i'm wrong , (no, educating my ignorance doesn't mean that i'm actually wrong) BUT my 86 245 has onboard diagnostics. That means that by inserting the atttached pin type plug in one of the 5 or 6 optional receiver connectors under my hood, i can actually detect and de "code" anomalies in my relay-sensor-switch system(s) as per how many times the blinkinking red light blinks. Now , the trick is, you have to know what getting a 2-3-1 means. i simply call the volvo guy in mobile because he has all of these red books with everything in them, including the codes. i keep threatening to copy the pages for my car but he will not allow me to take the book off the premises, so i just call and tell him the number- he tells me the info. I think he just wants to keep strings and tabs on 'the family' ...................P.S. i know the wiring code for the radio.... ha HA!!!!! the secret is OUT!!!!and you would have gotten away with it if it weren't for those meddling kids
Thanks everyone.......taking apart my odometer right now...
