I may not be the OP, but my car desperately needs both a tune-up and brakes, as well as a little bit more tinkering time to figure out the idle problem. Perhaps we could attempt a cheesy "Half-broken Volvos and the dudes that own 'em" meetup in an attempt to fix them all at once, sapping experience from those who know and/or offering a pool of tools? (I've done suspension, engine, and various electrical work but never learned to do a proper brake bleeding & rotor/pad change) ;)
