Not clear what your problem is.... 200 1986

I can't address the "coolant in oil problem", but has any consideration been given to the possibility that the heater core may be leaking and that might account for the smell of heated coolant?

The coolant may be exiting through the A/C condensate drain, not be puddling on the floor, or causing misting of the windshield.

For what it's worth, this is my two cents!!!
