thanks 120-130 1966

Thank you George for your very thorough response. For someone who is fairly new at these repairs (in the past three years), I've now done a lot of work on my car, but have not yet done anything regrding the clutch and tranny, and my knowledge is limited here. It seems that the clutch is "dragging" according to your description, not grinding, but definitely catching a few clunks (in feel, but not in sound) in between shifting those gears I mentioned. My memory of driving this car as a teenager was of how I could shift gears smoothly with barely the flick of a finger. I drove this car around on and off a little last spring before giving it to the mechanic, and don't recall that catching as I shifted, but I was more concerned with a backfiring/difficult acceleration problem I was having with the carburators at the time, and was too focused on that to remember much else of the car's performance and handling. I've only been back driving it a couple of days, and after some more miles logged I'll see if I can try the adjustment you described.

Shucks about the windows! I need to get my work on the doors done, but I know it will take a good day or so, and I'd like to wait for somew warmer weather (I'm in PA). And with the new paint job, once the trim is back on, I'd like to leave it that way.

Thanks again,

Holly
