My 83/242 has had a short problem with the engine RPM signal to the ECU.I got the problem fixed it was the connector at the ICU.In the Bentley book on Fuel Injection 241-11 pargraph 2 it says that with the ingition OFF there should be power on terminal 30&86 but when I checked my relays there is no power on #86 till the switch is turned on,is this a mistake in the book are do I have another problem.I also checked for power at fuse 12 where it said the power is coming from, there is no power till the switch is turn on.I replaced the fuse to be on the safe side.I still have a slight skip in the engine while driving
this has always been there since I have owned the car.The car is with the white cap dist.and the ICU is #295,the ECU is 003.My engine wiring harness has been pulled out and complety rebuilt I would like to know if I can switch ECU,ICU and dist and make the car run better.I have a 544 ecu and a 107 ICU and several Dist but I don't know what # to use on it.Will I have to make any other changes.I have pulled both fuel pumps and relplaced the fuel filters. There are no vacumn leaks all that has been replaced including the intake gasket.
Fuel mileage is bad 20.5 around town, the O2 has been changed the 002 AMM has been checked out and changed and all the other goodys. This car has a M46 overdrive with a 3.31 gear.If anybody knows where I should go from here then let me know.I used 1" DIA heat shrink tubing on the wiring harness and there should be no electrial impulses on the harness at the Alt.
Thanks for any help
