my uncle has a 1989 volvo 744gl and it sputters and sometimes stalls when acellerating from a stop. sometimes when the car has been sitting for a few days untouched, it will be hard to start. cap rotor plugs and wires are new within the past year. when i do an obd code check it gives the code 311 which means the speedo has no signal, but the speedo works fine. i checked the wiring in the trunk and under the car and behind the dash and all is fine. what could it be? ecu fault. the car hasa 240k on it.
