Halogen back-up lights. S90-V90

At one time I considered using them in one of my 240s, but decided not to after hearing that the heat can seriously distort the lamp lens and housing.

On a 240 the tail lamps can still be obtained on eBay or elsewhere.

My 1997 965 has a cracked lower red lens, which is now "patched" with that cheap-looking red tape. I was unable to find on eBay a replacement unit with the red-white-white-red lenses, and dang if I'll pay a dealer for a new unit.

The 745/945 tail light unit will fit, but not right due to an inset on the lower red lens. Also, they are red-white-amber-red.

So I would be grateful if you would post, in another thread, your experience with the halogen bulbs as regards the heat they generate. Thank you.
