(please excuse the stupid CAPS LOCK. Too much typing to go back and do it again!)
aCTUALLY, WITH TODAY'S COATINGS, THIS ISN'T REALLY A JOKE.
iF YOU SKIMP AND TRY TO GET BY WITH 'SILVER' OR 'ALUMINUM' PAINT, YOU GET DULL SILVER. tHERE ARE A COUPLE OF 'CHROME' PAINTS ON THE MARKET - YES IN rattle cans! - THAT WILL DO A CREDITABLE JOB OF REPAIRING YOUR REFLECTORS.
yOU MAY NEED TO BUY A FEW DIFFERENT BRANDS AND TRY THEM, BUT ONE i USED (SORRY, i DON'T RECALL THE BRAND OFFHAND!) WAS THAt same paint they use in model cars to make the bumpers and other chrome parts look so good.
If you do a good job prepping the surface you should get a good result. Face it, your current housings are junk in more ways than one, so you're not risking much in attempting to repair them.
I'd say use Gorilla Glue or a similar product to seal the lenses back onto the bodies. Then, if it looks like you can live with the results, buy a decent set of Xenon Gas bulbs and your headlights should be as good as, or even better than new.
If it doesn't work out, put the Xenon bulbs into new or salvaged housings and enjoy the improved lights.
