Suspected bad FPR 700

Checked the in-tank pump months ago. That was my first thought. It works, car will start and run with either fuse pulled. In-tank pump is not really noisy, but does make some noise/vibration. At least I think it still works.

When I was pulling fuel pump fuses, I noticed that with the fuse for the in-tank pump pulled, the main under-car pump ran silently. Then... it didn't. It hasn't since.

There was one time when I had almost empty and pulled a hard left from a dead stop while accelerating and I lost power for a split second and it came back. This was with maybe 1-2 gallons in the tank. There's no difference in running or anything with different amounts of fuel in the tank.

Now what? A friend of mine will let me borrow his FPR, but it's from a 91 240 NA. Any chance they're the same?
