Drive Train Problem??? 200

My '87 245 has started making an anoying vibration at highway speeds (45-70 mph). It seems to be coming from the drive train area of the car and is much worse during acceleration. When coasting, the vibration is much less pronounced. When I get above 85 mph (strickly for testing purposes!)the vibration lessens. At slower speeds the vibration is almost non-existant. It does not seem to be a wheel/tire issue. Any suggestions???
