Sunroof Electrical problems 700 1988

Sunroof is not stopping in closed position, but stops when opened fully. I tried the repair in the FAQ(gluing material onto the actuator), but it was no help. Could it be that the solenoid at the switch mechanism is not pulling in?
Can someone explain the operation of the switches and the solenoid?
