Thanks guys, some useful advise there. I have been going rather easy on the motor, no excessive loads, no excessive revs. No, it was not a complete rebuid, more like a head rebuild and new rings. Cylinder bores were in great shape and was not honed. Car runs great now. Thank goodness it has rather tall gearings, at least at 2000rpms, it runs at 55 mph. On my 144 (M40), we will probably be looking north of 3000 rpms for the same speed.
I have sent the M-41 to the tranny shop for new seals (dug into the rainy day fund). Will keep you guys updated when I hook it up on the 144.
