No Start

This is the second time this has happened, I have an 89 780 with a B230FT engine. I drove home, about 1.5 hours, and went to the grocery store. When I came out the car wouldn't start. and when I say wouldn't start I mean i put the key into the start postion and nothing happens, no click, nothing. the power would come on to the car but it just doesn't seem to be making it to the plugs.

I pulled the wire from the distributor to the ignition coil and reseated it, etc and nothing. I have a basic understanding of the ignition system and if anyone has an idea of what this is or has seen this before please let me know.
