Stalling out in neutral 140-160

The engine sounds good. I would suspect the tranny not being totally in neutral. Where is the clutch engaged, near to top or bottom of peddle travel? Does it happen after you shift from 4th to N, like at a traffic light? Is the tranny warm or cold?
I only ask this because it sounds like there is a load on the engine if the starter doesn't spin the engine freely. Try starting with the clutch peddle out and the clutch peddle on the floor, in N both times.
