"i think most of the 1982 cars had K-Jet though. out of the 10 or so 1982 4-cyl. cars I've seen (mostly at junkyards), only one of them was LH-Jet."
You're probably right, this is the first '82 I've poked into, it seems to be one of the least documented model years.
The GL I acquired was a steal. $200, runs *perfectly* - needed exhaust, wiper linkage, and rust patching. The rust is all I got left to deal with and dad and I patched most of it up today.
There IS however a lot of noise coming from the main fuel pump. I've decided it's either a bad main pump or bad transfer pump, even though the previous owner replaced both about 5 years ago. In-tank pump was done at dealer with Volvo part, main pump is aftermarket.
At this point I'm thinking (is this possible?) that the in-tank pump is for some reason (Relay?) not receiving enough voltage to supply enough fuel to the main pump to keep it from overworking itself. Oh well, car runs, i'll probably wait till a pump beaks, then I'll KNOW what's wrong.
BTW, the previous owner was the original owner and the guy kept EVERYTHING, including owners manual and some other papers that came with the car. I'd be willing to scan in anything you'd like. Got the premium "Volvosound" stereo book too, I think. Pretty neat, wish the radio had still been with the car.
