to warm up or not to warm up 200

You don't indicate the year of your car, although I don't think it makes a difference: I believe the common wisdom is to start the engine and drive conservatively for the first few miles. That means, no high revs, use a light foot. If your car doesn't run well when first started then there are repairs to be made, a tuneup, new air filter etc. Contrary to some people I do think the pre-heat tube is important to get the car running lean sooner. [that's the silver tube that starts at the exhaust manifold, passes over the oil filter, under the radiator and into the airbox.] When I take a car to a cold place in winter I do warm it up for a minute and I shift it through all the gears [automatic]while stationary to get the trans fluid flowing.
