The locksmith took off the gas cap in about 3 minutes. I immediately took the back off and threw the brass locking plate in the glove box. Then I tanked up!
My mechanic suggested to swap injector #1 and #2. Brilliant! 15 minutes later the car putted to life, and I reved it a little. It idles poorly, but it does idle. Then I pulled plugs 1 and 2. Both were wet with gas! I currently have injector #2 unplugged, but that will soon over heat the spark plug.
I called around the Twin Cities and can find no one who wants to clean these "old" injectors. There are web sites, but I need to clean at least two if not 6 plugs. And 6X25=150 which is not in my check book. What I am afraid of is that I get two plugs cleaned and I still have the same problem.
I insulated the fuel rail with pipe wrap and aluminium, tried a back up ECU, a back up manifold pressure sensor, a full tank of gas, and clean plugs. The ECU has the leaness knob all the way to the left.
My mechanic cannot even look at the car this week, last week of school and everyone getting their car ready for road trips.
How about I drive around for an hour or two with two(2) bottles of injection cleaner in the 15 gallon tank? Good or bad idea,
Klaus
