Recently I have had a couple of occurances of no-start, and one very dangerous stall incident (going up hill on a freeway about 65 mph).
Since the stall I have replaced spark plugs, cap & rotor, removed the IAC motor (it seems to move freely though I did not spray carb cleaner into it).
I will be replacing the fuel pressure regulator and cleaning the throttle body this weekend.
My questions are: should I replace the fuel filter, and maybe have the in-tank pump & sock filter inspected?
It's a 1988 245 with 237K miles. Two years ago when I had problems I had a volvo mechanic check the fuel pressure, he said it was good and did not require a new filter. My tank pump only draws 1.4A which I understand is low for an 88. Would problems with the intank pump cause it to draw less current? I would expenct a higher current draw.
I have yet to remove the Cat and inspect it, it also is suspect.
Any other things I should check/change to make it a more reliable car?
Thanks
Mike
