Tranny filter question S90-V90

Just finished the project-what a bear getting the pan to break loose from the tranny. Looked nice and clean inside-the filter was OK as well. After looking in there I see this really didn't need to be done. The Mobil 1 syn fluid keeps things nice and clean in there. There was over 140k miles on the car since the pan was last droped so I figured to take a look and see.
One last thing-thanks esp for the tip about another qt of fluid behind the tranny filter-that would have been real messy.
