Battery cable fire, what is the fix? 700 1989

The battery cables which run under the front of the engine have shorted and burnt, again. This happenned 7 years ago and I replaced the cable and thought I had insulated it enough so this would not happen, I guess not.
I think there is a factory specified repair for this. Does anyone know what it is specifically.? I need to repair the 745 and fix the 744 so this doesn't happen again.
