Old pressure plates can get really, really stiff. How long has yours been on there?

The seat frames can bolt to the adjuster rails in two positions, more foreward or more aft. The whole seat bolts to the car at two (or three?) different heights, the rake of the whole seat can be adjusted over quite a range at the front mount, and don't forget that the seat backs can recline a bit too.
