You probably got just what you paid for. What were the symptoms before you replaced the starter and what did you do to diagnose the problem that led you to believe that the starter was the problem. It could be a bad battery, faulty park/neutral switch, broken ground cable for the engine. Any number of things could cause your ailment, you need to diagnose it properly before your next course of action to repair it.
