I have found a rad from a '66 122 in excellent condition which I can get fairly inexpensively. Since the rad in our '67 is pretty beatup, I thought this would be a drop-in replacement. Then I discovered that Volvo switched from an open system in '66 to a closed system in '67. Given that this car is eventually going to have a warmed up B20 (<150 h.p.) and that it will be driven mainly in a moderate climate (Vancouver) but with the occasional mountain pass trip, would it be acceptable to revert to an open system or should we modify the '66 rad for closed system operation?
I guess while I'm at it, I should ask if there are any other fitment issues with this rad swap?
