Sell car to Junkyard?

Hello,
I was just wondering if anyone has any expereince trying to sell cars to junkyards. I have a 1977 244 and a 1975 164 that I must get rid of by the time that I move (next week) and while I have ads in craigslist and IPD I'm not sure anyone will take/buy them. Do junkyards pay actual money for junked cars or do they just come haul them away. Or worse do I need to pay to have them removed? I'm going to try calling around tomorrow I just wanted some learned advice before I negotiate with them.
