Once I almost got a 71 144, and it had that earlier grill. I read or heard somewhere that they unofficially started minor cosmetic differecnes like the L, DL, GL in '71. The base model got the early grill, E's got the 3 piece. The rest was interior AFAIK, seat material and what flavor of dash paneling you got. Maybe that didn't apply to the 145?

Or they just swapped grills when it got wrecked or for aesthetic reasons.

Shoot... My girlfriend had her eye on that car, and we're coming up to Portland in a month.
