After rereading my original post and some of the other responses, I think I need to clarify my post a little bit. I meant to say use a small screwdriver or another dullish, flat small tool to pry up the HOUSING on the outside of the switch. IMO - This is quicker and easier than removing the armrest. I've had no problems with this method...
OTOH - Removing the armrest is a perfectly good method too. Especially if you are concerned about damaging the armrest or housing. Personally, I don't like to do that because I find the front armrests are a pain to get back on due to that silly metal piece that mounts under the front part of the armrest. It can take forever to manuever that sucker into its correct position!!
