These are door lock cylinders right?
You only "insert the key and depress the button" on
the ignition lock cylinder.
Do you have an actual Volvo manual showing the door and
all of it's parts? This is how I had to do mine. It showed
how the entire door handle came apart. Without that I don't
know that I could have figured it out either.
Okay, you have the oval section that has the
lock cylinder in it out correct?
there is a small pin that holds the cylinder in the
oval piece. You need to take a punch or small nail and
tap that completely out. That holds the cylinder inside the
oval piece. You should be able to see it from both sides.
I don't think it is tappered so you should be able to
tap it out from either side. Then the cylinder should slide
right out. Be very carefull as not to loose that pin!
Just put the new cylinder in and replace the pin!
I hope this make some sense to you...LOL
IF you have removed the "lock-pin" already, then the cylinder should
come out.
cheers,
Karl
PS. I think the tailgate to my wagon was the worst. If I remember correctly, the pin only went in and out on one side. I had to spray and bang on the thing until the pin fell out! (into the grass of course)
I hope you don't have a wagon....LOL
