This would be better answered by Art Benstein, but I believe he once posted about a case where the relay can blow if there is a "downstream" (wire going to solenoid) short to ground, AND the OD fuse is of too high an amp rating. It should be only 15A.
Art may elaborate (or correct me), if he sees this thread. But in any case, I would check the fuse size and the yellow wire from relay to OD solenoid.
