How hard is it to replace the steering rack bushing? 200 1990

Getting a bit of a clunk at the front when the weight of the car shifts (the roads in Anchorage leave something to be desired). When I was at a volvo yard / shop last week, the mechanic (thanks John!) said that it was the bushing in the steering rack that the column goes into. He said as it degrades further, will lead to rack leak and eventually rack failure. Also mentioned one of the volvo special tools necessary to do the job. Has anyone here tackled this one?
