740 starts fine then cut out rpm 0 and starts again 700 1987

hello , I have a 1987 740 gle. The problem is when the engine is cool it is fine or the outside temperture is under 90 degrees it rund fine. But, the when the engine gets hot . It starts to cut off. Rpms go to 0 and then it starts up again. It will keep on doing this until either the engine comes to a stop or the car does. I have researched that it may be the hall sensor. Where is the Hall sensor( does it have another name) and how do replace it? Another thing that I have read is that it maybe crank position sensor. For the life of me, I can not find it? I have already replace the fuel (in tank) pump, coil and the MAss Air sensor. any help would be most appreciated
