Intermittent power problem 200 1984

Hi,

Assuming non-turbo, just for starters, take a close look at the plug on your AMM. Is the boot cracked such that water could enter? Examine the ends of the plug contacts. Are any greenish, like the one shown here?

The check is an easy one and the symptoms fit with intermittent twisting between the harness and the AMM fastened more or less to both the motor through its accordion tube and its rubber isolated mounting bolt. While you are there, thoroughly examine that duct to the throttle body for rub-through holes.
