steering rod replacement 120-130

With my beloved 122s came two brand new steering rods . I would like to get them in but first I need some advice! is replacing them straight forward? just remove the old ones and replace with the new or is there something else I should know.does the car have to be off the ground etc etc etc? these rods are complete. also do they need to be lubed up being there brand new.any advice would help
