Pearl;
To assure thermostat is submerged, fill radiator as far as possible, burp system by squeezing upper radhose (Tstat may be closed, but air will still move through tiny opening to allow this), do this until you can't fill rad any more, leave radcap off, start engine, monitor level (and Temp!), when Tstat opens, a noticable drop in level (and Temp) will occur...at this point fill rad again to maximum, seal radcap to final position, add coolant to overflow bottle to minimum mark...double-check after a few run/cool cycles and top up overflow bottle to minimum mark when cold.
Cheers
