Perhaps. One wishes it would make said people brighter, but it does not seem so. Doesn't help the drivers, doesn't help the NHTSA legislators.

But at least it helps MY eyes to have a piece of blue wrapper from a ramen noodles package glued into the socket as a filter. It's a nicer blue color at least.

As for things being caused by corrosion, that is 100% true. However, design engineers I can live with; it's the bean counters I can do without!
