A nice turbo car could be intersting.
However,
Remember, the devil you know...
Whenever acquiring a "new" brick, I assume about $1000 for things to fix that I am unaware of at time of purchase. That assumes I'll fix what I can and pay a shop for the other stuff. Also assumes a decent test drive and time to look the car over.
The only way I'd change the estimate is if I could have a good mechanic go over the car including getting it on a lift and pulling all wheels for inspection.
Even so, a nice turbo is tempting.
