crank position sensor? 200 1991


Did you check your crank position sensor? AKA rpm sensor?

Located at rear of engine, perched over the tranny bell housing area.
Look in the 700-900 FAQ for information on this.

Failure of the cps often first shows up as an intermittent no-start.
Followed eventually by complete no-start.

I mention this item since it is often unknown, ignored or forgotten, so will often remain in the car beyond it's lifespan and cause trouble.
