no engine start! 1990

my beauty to match my beautifulblonde self volvo 240 '90 wont start! cant live wout my car.. got it started briefly, but was afraid to drive it and have it stall to mechanics what to do? IT IS leaking coolant as well as gas (gas tank leak) oil seems fine, lights come 'on' when ignition turned, then ignition goes out, no start. makes a bit of a whiny sound when still in ignition key position, but no start. dont think its the battery hOW CAN I FIX THIS SUFFIECIentLY TO GET IT TO SHOP?!
