With LH 2.4 and EZK ignition, the ECT sensor shanged to one that has 2 temp sensing elements going to a common ground (sensor body).

As long as the individual sensors are OK, I think it matters if the wires are reversed. If one sensor (or its wiring) goes bad, an OBD code will be set by the relevant CU, LH or EZK (OBD socket 2 or 6).
