Well, it's pretty small for a $9.00 part, but much cheaper than the $50.00 I spent to rent a car caddy to get the crippled amazon home...
Anyway, the ring slipped on without much effort. It almost seated itself with no help, but I needed to give it a light smack with a rubber mallet to get it the final 2 mm onto the pump shaft. The fit is snug and firm, without a feeling of being "jammed" on there. I reinstalled the pump and the distributor gear slid right into place. No muss, no fuss. Overall, very easy to put in, giving me some peace of mind for the new motor. Well, about that part at least...
I also checked the centering on the new rear main seal and replaced the stiff orange aftermarket front seal with a nice IPD neoprene seal. Except for drilling out the broken alternator bracket bolt, this motor is ready to go into the amazon.
